A wartime poster, rendered as a duck, done seriously
A collectible figurine that takes one of the most reproduced images of the twentieth century and rebuilds it as a small sculpture: bandana knotted at the front, sleeve rolled, wing flexed. It is decorative first, but it is not decoration without an argument — the pose is the whole message and it survives the translation into a duck intact.
Where it earns its shelf
Machine shops, welding bays, hair-and-makeup trailers, engineering offices, union halls. It gets bought as a marker of a first apprenticeship, a promotion into a trade, a woman going back to a shop floor. That is a narrower buyer than a generic figurine has, and it is exactly the buyer this design was drawn for. Printed at our Quebec farm.
Build and finish
Printed in PLA at a 0.16 mm layer height on our own FDM machines. The flexed arm and the knot of the bandana are the two hardest features to keep legible at this scale, and the layer height is chosen around them.
Where to put it
Bench, toolbox lid, office windowsill above the shop floor — it is sized for the narrow ledges those spaces actually have. Workshops run warm and dusty, so keep it off the machine itself and wipe it with a dry cloth rather than solvent, which will haze the printed surface.
