Already have a model? Provide the authorized file and the dimensions you need. A clear specification helps distinguish a personal print from a commercial batch and identifies questions about material, fragile details and approval before the job is accepted.
Send a file that describes the object you want
If you already have a character model, file printing avoids commissioning a new sculpt. The file service accepts STL, 3MF and OBJ, but the extension alone does not tell us its intended size or whether you may have it printed. Check both before uploading.
- Size: note the desired height and base dimensions in millimetres. Check the preview against those numbers.
- Format: an STL describes geometry; a 3MF may carry project information. Do not assume that a picture, a viewer link or a virtual-tabletop asset is a printable model.
- Material and detail: compare the options shown for your upload with the level of detail you need.
- Permission: retain the creator’s terms and any authorization for third-party printing.
For several copies, state the quantity and intended use. Having a file does not grant resale rights, and paying a printer does not change the file’s license. A highly detailed model may still need changes to be suitable for the selected process.
Upload your authorized model. Check the displayed dimensions, options and quote before proceeding; describe any uncertainty in the project notes.
Have a permitted character file printed
If you already have a 3D character file, the first question is what you are allowed to do with it. Keep the file's source, the applicable permission or license and the intended use together. Downloading or buying a model does not by itself answer whether a third party may manufacture it for you, or whether the finished copies may be sold.
For the production request, provide the intended finished height and the model's units. Tell us whether the base is included in that measurement and whether separate pieces need to fit together. If the model contains several bodies or parts, identify which ones you want printed and how many of each.
- Use the file-printing route and check its current accepted formats.
- Keep the original file unchanged in your records; explain any scaling or repair you want reviewed.
- Include a reference image showing the intended assembled result.
- State whether the piece is for personal display, a gift or a business purpose.
An STL may describe geometry without the colours shown in a promotional render. Ask which colour and finish information can be used for your file. The interface shows whether the displayed price is a geometry estimate or a slice-confirmed quote. If a slice-confirmed quote is unavailable, the estimate can be used to order; review the displayed status and checkout total before payment. Uploading does not transfer design ownership or extend the permissions attached to the model.
Separate a retailer's model from its manufacturing instructions
When requesting several copies of your own model, send a production brief with the file rather than relying on its filename. Identify the version, intended finished dimensions, part count and quantity of each part. State whether all copies are identical or whether some need different sizes or colours.
Explain the business purpose: a store display prototype, internal equipment or objects intended for sale. Supplying a file does not by itself establish permission to manufacture it or resell the outputs. Keep the model's source and relevant permissions available for the review, particularly where an outside designer created it.
Before discussing a batch, clarify whether the file needs repair, assembly or a fit check. Ask what a prototype could establish and which changes would require another review. Do not assume an accepted one-off print guarantees capacity, repeatability or terms for a later production run.
Use the file-printing service and describe the quantity and commercial purpose explicitly. The interface shows whether the displayed price is a geometry estimate or a slice-confirmed quote. If a slice-confirmed quote is unavailable, the estimate can be used to order; review the displayed status and checkout total before payment. That sequence does not settle separate commercial rights or batch requirements. If the intended resale or manufacturing scope is not covered by the initial response, resolve it before approving a batch. The upload route is not a grant of rights and should not be used to bypass a custom commercial agreement.
Turn an authorized file into a physical gift
If you already have a model you want as a gift, prepare the file and the intended result together. A file alone may not explain the scale, which pieces belong together or how the object will be displayed.
- Identify the file version and the model’s source.
- Confirm that its permissions allow the intended printing and sharing with a printing service.
- State the desired dimensions and quantity.
- Explain whether it contains separate parts and which visible details matter.
- Include the needed-by date and destination for review.
A downloaded file is not automatically free to reproduce in every context. Personal-use permission, gifting a print and selling copies are different questions. Keep the actual terms with your request; do not assume a catalogue commercial license covers an unrelated model.
The file service reviews the submitted job and available production options. A digital preview does not by itself promise a particular material or finish. Start a file-printing request with the dimensions and intended gift use.
Prepare a souvenir file for a resale-production request
If your shop or artist-run gallery has an existing model, distinguish the file you can supply from the use you want to make of the printed objects. Owning a copy of a file is not the same as holding permission for manufacturing, transmission to a printer and physical resale.
Send the current file version with intended dimensions, units, quantity and selling channel. Identify separate parts, visible features that matter and any assembly expectations. Include the rights basis and any restrictions, rather than relying on a filename or a verbal claim that the design is “commercial.”
The request must establish both permitted use and an accepted production scope. File upload alone approves neither. Catalogue wholesale minimums, colourway terms and digital subscription rights do not automatically apply to this project.
Submit an authorized file for review with the retail purpose clearly stated. Ask for the quoted deliverables, appearance, quantity and timing to be confirmed before planning a product launch or accepting retail orders.
Have an authorized event model printed
If you already have a wedding decoration or event model, a file-printing request is different from asking someone to design it. Before uploading, establish that the file's terms permit the production you need. A download or purchase does not automatically authorize commercial event use, resale or outsourcing to a printing service.
Include the file, its intended dimensions and units, the quantity, and a description of how the object will be used. A table-number model may need a particular footprint; a place-card holder needs the card dimensions. Give those requirements explicitly rather than asking the printer to infer them from a preview image.
The current upload route lists its accepted file requirements. For STL or 3MF event files, check the exported scale and identify whether multiple objects belong to one set. Explain any colour or finish requirements as requests to assess. A file upload does not establish printability or suitable use.
Submit your authorized file for assessment with the required arrival date and destination. Decor studios should also state whether the parts are for their own installation or a client's commercial project.
Provide a model for a business gift project
If you already have a 3D model, identify the intended size and units before requesting production. A file that opens correctly can still describe an object at the wrong scale. State the expected overall dimensions and the purpose of the finished piece so the file can be reviewed in context.
Include more than the file name
- The model format, such as STL or 3MF, and any relevant version information.
- The number of pieces and whether every copy is identical.
- The intended use, including any sale or distribution.
- Your authorization to have the design reproduced for that use.
- The destination and date the objects are needed.
Colour, finish, geometry and batch requirements still need review. Uploading a model does not establish that it is printable, that every detail can be retained or that you have permission to reproduce it.
Use Print My File and describe the business project. If you only have a photo, logo image or idea, start with a custom concept request instead of treating the image as a production-ready model.
Print a collectible file you are authorized to use
If you already have a model, start with the file-printing route rather than a new design request. Check that your file licence allows the intended use and any third-party printing involved. Purchasing or downloading a model does not automatically permit every manufacturing arrangement.
Before uploading
- Identify the file format and the units used to model it.
- Specify the finished height or other controlling dimension.
- Point out separate parts, delicate projections and any intended moving joints.
- State the quantity and whether the prints are for personal use or resale.
- Keep the source and applicable permission information available.
The file service accepts STL, 3MF and OBJ uploads. A file that opens on screen may still need review for scale, geometry or fragile details. Likewise, colours visible in a rendering may not define the physical finish you will receive.
Is the first estimate the complete specification? Check the selected options, quote, shipping and taxes before accepting an order. If something important is unclear, resolve it first. Upload an authorized file with clear dimensions and requirements.
Specify a batch from an authorized model file
For a batch request, make it clear which file version should be printed and which dimensions control the result. A folder containing several revisions can create avoidable ambiguity, especially if the rendered preview does not match the final geometry.
Include a batch specification
- Final file name and version, with the intended units and finished dimensions.
- Quantity per model or variant.
- Material and finish requirements for assessment.
- Separate parts, assembly expectations and important fragile details.
- Intended use, including any physical resale, and the relevant permissions.
- A sample or approval step and acceptance criteria to agree before the run.
Authorization to use a file, acceptance of the manufacturing job and permission for commercial resale are distinct questions. Uploading a model does not answer them automatically. If the file comes from another creator, check whether third-party production and your intended use are covered.
Keep the accepted file and specification unchanged after approval unless a revision is agreed. Submit the authorized file and batch requirements; use the inquiry to confirm scope rather than assuming bulk capacity or terms.
