Colour as the whole design

Multi-colour printing, and why it looks like that
Printed in multi-colour PLA on our own FDM machines at a 0.16 mm layer height. Because the colour changes are laid down layer by layer during the print rather than sprayed on afterwards, the gradient follows the geometry of the body — which is what gives the flowing, poured look instead of a flat painted finish.
Displaying the colour
Colour-led pieces reward placement more than character pieces do: put it against a plain background and give it a little space, and the gradient does the work. Indirect daylight shows the transition best. Direct sun over months will dull any printed colour, so a bookshelf beats a window ledge.
