Two of the least aerodynamic animals, combined
A collectible figurine that grafts a basset hound onto a duck and commits fully to the result: the ears, the jowls, the low-slung sadness, all sitting on a duck’s body. It is a display piece with a joke built into its silhouette, which is a rarer thing than it sounds.
Who actually buys it
Basset owners, almost without exception. The breed attracts a specific kind of devotion and a specific kind of humour about it, and this piece speaks both. It works on a veterinary clinic reception desk, on a shelf at home beside the dog’s actual photo, or as the gift you bring to someone who has just adopted their second hound. Printed in Quebec.
Craft notes
Printed in PLA on our FDM machines at a 0.16 mm layer height. That resolution matters here — the drape of the ears and the fold of the jowls are the whole gag, and they need clean geometry to read properly at desk scale.
Scale and placement
It is sized to share a desk rather than to dominate one, which is the difference between a piece that stays out and a piece that gets shelved. On a reception counter it works best at eye level for a seated visitor. The ears are the part most likely to catch a sleeve, so give it a few centimetres of clearance from the edge.
