Small-town lawman, duck-sized
A collectible figurine built on a very old visual grammar — five-pointed star, wide brim, hands-on-hips authority — and shrunk onto a duck without losing any of it. It is a display piece that works because the silhouette is recognisable long before the details are.
Milestones, mostly
These sell to mark things: an academy graduation, a promotion, thirty years and a pension, a transfer out of a detachment. A desk in a squad room does not have space for much, and a small sculpture is one of the few things that survives the space audit. It is printed at our own Quebec farm rather than sourced from a promotional-goods catalogue.
Print and finish notes
PLA at a 0.16 mm layer height on our FDM machines. The brim of the hat and the points of the star are the two features that fail first at coarse resolutions, and the layer height is chosen with both in mind.
Desk-side practicalities
It stands without a base and takes up about as much room as a coffee mug, which is the constraint that actually decides whether something survives on a shared desk. If it is going into a display case with a light, use an LED rather than a halogen; PLA does not care for sustained radiant heat.
