Already have a Halloween STL, 3MF or OBJ that you are allowed to have printed? 3DCentral’s Print My File service is the starting point for ordering a physical decorative print. Printing takes place in Laval, Quebec, with an online ordering path for Canadian delivery. Before uploading, confirm the permissions, finished dimensions and file format, then review the options and price shown for your project.
This checklist is for a decoration or collectible you want to display. If you have an idea or photo but no printable model, start with a custom enquiry.
Choose the route that matches what you have
| Your starting point | Where to begin | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| An existing STL, 3MF or OBJ | Print My File | Permission, dimensions, file requirements and current printing options. |
| You want a ready-designed collectible | The Halloween collection | The individual listing’s dimensions, material, price and order details. |
| An idea or photo, without a printable file | A custom enquiry | Describe the intended decoration and identify the relevant custom option. |
These routes help you prepare a project; acceptance still depends on the file and intended use.
Six things to settle before uploading
- Keep a record of permission. Save the model page, creator’s name and licence or permission covering your intended use. A download button alone does not establish permission to use a printing service or use the finished object as planned. Uploading transfers no model rights. 3DCentral refuses weapons, weapon parts, dangerous objects and content you have no right to use.
- Decide the finished dimensions and display footprint. Measure the display space, including room for the model’s base and projecting details. Record width, depth and height in millimetres. Set those dimensions in your modelling software or slicer before exporting: the uploader currently has no resizing control.
- Check the format and file size. The current service accepts STL, including binary and ASCII, 3MF and OBJ, with a maximum file size of 60 MB. Choose the version you want printed.
- Check every part against the limit. The current maximum is 250 × 250 × 250 mm per part. A larger model needs separately exported parts, prepared in your modelling software or slicer.
- Choose the material and colour intent. PLA and PETG options are shown in the service; select from the choices currently offered for your file. A 3MF painted in Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer can preserve multicolour intent, with up to four colours per part. Saved options and settings are respected where possible.
- Record the destination and needed-by date. Production and shipping are separate. Priority production does not promise express delivery or arrival for your event. Check current timing for the destination; if a fixed date is essential, ask the team before payment.
Compare the displayed dimensions with your plan
After uploading, compare the displayed width, depth and height with your recorded dimensions. If they differ, correct the size in your software, export again and check the replacement file before ordering.
For export choices, scale and geometry preparation, use our guide to preparing an STL, OBJ or 3MF for a custom print. It covers the technical work beyond this buying checklist.
Read the price and its status before continuing
The first displayed price is an estimate based on the model’s geometry. A slicing result may refine it. If slicing is unavailable, the estimate can still be used to order. Read the displayed status rather than assuming that a slicing result has been produced.
Review your options and quantity, the displayed price before continuing, and taxes and shipping at checkout before payment. Use the current figures for your own file and selections; a price for a different decoration does not establish your total.

Frequently asked questions
Can I upload a picture of the model instead?
A preview image can serve as a reference, but it does not replace a printable STL, 3MF or OBJ. Use the model file for a file-order project.
Why might the uploaded size differ from what I expected?
STL and OBJ coordinates are interpreted as millimetres. For 3MF, saved units and object transformations determine the size. Compare the displayed dimensions with your intended size rather than judging from the screen preview alone.
Does splitting a model guarantee that the parts will fit?
No. Splitting a model into separately exported parts does not establish that every part will print or fit together as intended. Check the prepared design and dimensions against the per-part limit.
