A decorative collectible that puts a duck in full Viking kit and plays it completely straight — which is precisely why it works as a display piece. The silhouette is legible from across a room: helmet, beard, stance. It is the kind of sculpture people pick up, turn over, and ask about.
Where it belongs
This one has an obvious home: the shelf holding the Norse mythology paperbacks, the sagas, the history of the North Atlantic that somebody actually finished. It also travels well as a gift for re-enactors, longship enthusiasts and anyone whose surname ends in -son and never lets it go. Printed at our own Quebec farm.
Print detail and finish
Printed in PLA on our own FDM machines at a 0.16 mm layer height, which keeps the helmet edges and the beard texture crisp at this scale. Every unit is produced after the order lands rather than pulled from a warehouse shelf, so the design stays available indefinitely without us gambling on inventory.
On the shelf
It stands unaided and does not need a plinth, which matters on a crowded bookshelf where every object is competing for depth. Keep it out of prolonged direct sun as you would any printed piece; PLA is stable indoors but softens under sustained heat. Dust it with a dry brush rather than a cloth so the beard texture stays sharp.
