Description
Most dragon sculpts reach for menace. This one does not. The Baby Dragon on Block is built around youth — a large head, short limbs, and a curious rather than aggressive posture — and it sits on a block base textured to read as carved wood. Dragon and base come off the machine as a single continuous piece, not as parts joined afterwards.
The base is part of the sculpture
An integrated base solves a practical problem and a visual one at once. Practically, the figure stands unaided on any flat surface and will not need a stand or putty. Visually, the wood texture gives the smooth dragon body something to contrast against, so the two halves of the piece read as separate materials despite being the same filament.
Cute over fearsome
The proportions do the characterisation. Oversized head, small wings still folded, a pose that suggests watching rather than threatening. Scales, wing membranes and facial detail are all cut in, but the overall read is inquisitive. If your shelf is already full of teeth and spread wings, this is the piece that breaks that up.
Printed as one piece
Produced at our Quebec facility as a single integrated print, which means there is no seam between dragon and base and no joint to fail. Premium PLA holds the wood grain in the block and the smoother surfaces of the dragon body in the same run, and each piece is checked for stability on a flat surface before it ships.
Provenance and care
This model’s designer is not recorded, so it is listed under Unknown Artist; commercial printing rights to a community design belong with its creator. A decorative collectible for ages 14 and up. The wings and the tail tip are the thinnest sections — lift it by the block rather than the body. Keep it away from radiators and out of a sunny window, and dust it dry.
